Thursday 30th January

L.I. To write new words for a sea shanty.

To perform the sea shanty.

What shall we do with our grumbling tummies,

What shall we do with our grumbling tummies,

What shall we do with our grumbling tummies,

Early in the morning.

Oh no, she’s not rising,

Oh no, she’s not rising,

Oh no, she’s not rising,

Early in the morning.

Catch some fish for the hungry sailors,

Catch some fish for the hungry sailors,

Catch some fish for the hungry sailors,

Early in the morning.

Hooray and up she rises,

Hooray and up she rises,

Hooray and up she rises,

Early in the morning.

My dad crewed as first mate on tall ship Unicorn of St. Helier during her tour of the Caribbean.  He then sailed her to Canada to take part in the Maritime 95 tall ships race with famous ships such as the HMS Rose and HMS Bounty.
